A member of the 23XI Racing team has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR following an arrest connected to an alleged incident in Concord.
According to NASCAR’s weekly post-event penalty report released after this past weekend’s races in Charlotte, Evanna Howell was suspended for a behavioral infraction.
Multiple reports indicate Howell, who serves as a senior account manager for 23XI Racing, was arrested by Concord Police on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon following an alleged incident involving an elderly man and a golf cart.
Authorities said Howell was released from custody after posting a $125,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for June 16.
Neither NASCAR nor 23XI Racing has released additional public information regarding the incident.
