A Cleveland man is facing multiple charges following a theft investigation involving stolen tools from a local business.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, officers responded on February 14, 2026, to a report of stolen tools from a business located along Statesville Boulevard. The business reported that several tools had been taken from the facility.
During the investigation, officers discovered the stolen equipment was being sold through online auction sites. Authorities say that information helped lead them to identify a suspect in Rowan County.
On March 21, 2026, 43-year-old James Victor Laws was taken into custody in connection with the case. He was transported before a Rowan County magistrate, where he was issued a $10,000 secured bond.
