Multiple Drug Arrests Made In Alexander County Enforcement Effort

Deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office made several unrelated drug arrests on May 25 as part of ongoing enforcement efforts across the county.
Authorities said 57-year-old Charles David Douglas of Taylorsville was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Douglas is currently being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for June 1.
Also arrested was 39-year-old Johnny Lynn Chapman of Stony Point. Chapman was charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Officials said Chapman is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. He is also scheduled to appear in court on June 1.
Authorities also arrested 42-year-old Chad Edward Simpson of Taylorsville. Simpson was charged with Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Investigators said Simpson was additionally served with several Failure to Appear orders. He is currently being held under a $14,000 secured bond and is scheduled for a first court appearance on June 1.
