A disturbing incident at a Statesville business has resulted in multiple criminal charges against a local man after deputies say he refused to leave the property, exposed himself to an employee, and resisted arrest.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded after reports of disorderly and inappropriate behavior at the business. Investigators say the suspect allegedly refused repeated requests to leave the property and engaged in conduct that caused concern among employees.

Authorities further allege the man exposed himself to an employee during the incident. When deputies attempted to take him into custody, he reportedly resisted arrest, leading to additional charges.

Sheriff Darren Campbell emphasized the importance of protecting local businesses and their employees from threatening or inappropriate behavior.

"Our businesses and employees should never have to tolerate threatening, abusive, or inappropriate behavior," Campbell said. "We encourage our community members to look out for one another, know how to stand up for themselves, and contact law enforcement when situations escalate or make them feel unsafe. Our deputies will continue working to ensure businesses in Iredell County remain safe places for everyone."

The suspect now faces multiple criminal charges in connection with the incident. Additional details regarding the case have not yet been released.
