Taylorsville Man Charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Taylorsville man on a firearm-related charge.

Authorities say 31-year-old Justin Nathaniel Helton was taken into custody and charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Helton is currently being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.

According to officials, Helton’s first court appearance is scheduled for March 16, 2026, in Alexander County District Court.
