A traffic stop in Mocksville late Sunday night resulted in the arrest of a passenger on drug charges, according to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff JD Hartman said deputies conducted a traffic stop around 11:08 p.m. on May 25 in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 601 South after observing a Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling at an unsafe speed.

Deputies made contact with the driver and front passenger, identified as 31-year-old Winson Trevel Scott of Myers Road in Mocksville. Authorities said while deputies were speaking with the occupants, Scott attempted to conceal a container underneath his shirt.

Investigators said a deputy observed Scott acting nervously and attempting to dump the contents of the container onto the floorboard of the truck. Deputies were able to recover the container and reportedly located methamphetamine inside.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, during which deputies allegedly found a glass pipe and two straws on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Scott was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was placed in the Davie County Detention Center under a $3,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on June 4.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Madison Kaylynn Livengood of Cleveland, North Carolina, was cited for Driving While License Revoked and released.
