Two Women Arrested Following Stony Point Break-In Investigation

Two women have been arrested in connection with a reported breaking and entering incident in Stony Point, according to the Alexander County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded on June 23, 2026, to a report of a breaking and entering in progress at a property in Stony Point. Upon arrival, deputies established a perimeter around the area and conducted an extensive search, including the deployment of a K-9 unit. Despite their efforts, the suspects were not initially located.

Later that evening, deputies returned to the property and observed an individual carrying a flashlight. Investigators approached the suspect and took Kristy Michelle Sigmon into custody without incident.

During the early morning hours of June 24, deputies located and arrested a second suspect, identified as Christina Dawn Hatcher.

Sigmon, 40, of Stony Point, was charged with Felony Breaking and Entering. She is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for June 29, 2026.

Hatcher, 37, of Taylorsville, was also charged with Felony Breaking and Entering. She is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to make her first court appearance on June 29, 2026.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
