201 Grams of Meth Seized in Traffic Stop

Two women are facing multiple felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Alexander County that led to the seizure of a significant amount of methamphetamine.

On the evening of June 24, 2026, deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Hubbard Road. During the stop, investigators located approximately 201 grams of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, both occupants were taken into custody.

Kandra Vang, 49, of Granite Falls, was charged with:

• 2 counts of Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine

• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine

• Felony Maintain Vehicle for Controlled Substance

• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

• Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked

• Driving Left of Center

  
  

Mai See Hang, 37, of Conover, was charged with:

• 2 counts of Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine

• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine

• Felony Maintain Vehicle for Controlled Substance

• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  
  

Both individuals are being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond, with first court appearances scheduled for June 29, 2026.

This arrest stems from an ongoing investigation involving the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir Police Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
