An Alexander County man already on pre-trial release for charges involving the downloading and distribution of child sexual abuse material is back in custody facing new charges.

On Friday, June 12, deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff's Office charged 20-year-old Landon Samuel Bolton of Sherwood Drive in Taylorsville (Bethlehem community) with seven counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Bolton was initially charged on May 27 with six counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Those earlier charges were related to the alleged possession and distribution of explicit images involving prepubescent minors. He was released from custody on June 3, according to online records.

The latest charges stem from allegations involving the possession of material containing visual depictions of prepubescent minors engaged in sexual activity with adults.

Bolton is currently being held without bond at the Alexander County Detention Center. A court appearance is scheduled for Monday, June 15.
