Chimney Fire Contained at Little Pigs Barbeque in Statesville

The Statesville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at Little Pigs Barbeque, located at 226 Brookdale Drive, shortly after 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

When crews arrived on scene, firefighters observed flames coming from the restaurant’s chimney. Firefighters made entry into the building to assess whether the fire had extended into the attic and to determine the safest approach to extinguish the blaze.

Despite initial challenges gaining access to the affected area, crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire within the chimney, preventing further damage to the structure.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Statesville Fire Department expressed appreciation to its mutual aid partners — Ebenezer Fire Department, Monticello Fire Department, Central Fire Department, and Iredell County EMS — for their assistance and coordinated response.

Fire officials said the teamwork among responding agencies played a key role in safely resolving the incident.
