Statesville remains under a D2 Severe Drought designation, according to the North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council, prompting continued calls for water conservation across the community.

The City of Statesville says the drought status remains unchanged, and residents and businesses are encouraged to reduce water use to help protect the local water supply.

Officials are asking the public to limit outdoor watering, avoid washing vehicles at home, repair leaks promptly, and use water efficiently both indoors and outdoors. City leaders say even small conservation steps can help maintain adequate water levels during prolonged dry conditions.

Water conservation measures will stay in place until conditions improve and the drought designation is downgraded. Residents can review current guidelines and restrictions through the city’s official drought information page.
