An Iredell County man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he used another person’s stolen personal information to activate and spend on a credit card that was never authorized.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, the case began on May 30 when a victim reported applying for a credit card that never arrived. The victim later discovered the card had been delivered to a previous address and subsequently used at multiple businesses in Statesville without permission.

Detective T.S. Henderson of the Criminal Investigation Division led the investigation and identified 58-year-old David Kyle Tucker of Cleveland as the suspect.

Investigators say Tucker obtained the victim’s personal identifying information and used it to activate the credit card. Authorities allege he then made a series of purchases at multiple businesses across Iredell County.

Evidence collected from the businesses where the fraudulent transactions occurred reportedly confirmed Tucker as the individual responsible for using the card.

On June 9, authorities obtained warrants for Tucker’s arrest. He was taken into custody and charged with nine counts of felony identity theft and nine counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Tucker was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where a magistrate set his secured bond at $75,000.
