The Iredell County Board of Elections is preparing for the November 3 General Election by finalizing the county’s Early Voting Plan.

During a meeting Tuesday night, election officials reviewed the proposed schedule, which would provide voters with nearly three weeks of early voting opportunities beginning October 15 and continuing through October 31.

Five early voting locations are included in the plan: the Iredell County Board of Elections Office, the War Memorial Building, Lake Norman Fire Department, Harmony American Legion, and the ISS CATS Building.

Under the proposed schedule, early voting sites would be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Voters will also have two Saturday opportunities to cast their ballots, with voting available October 24 and October 31 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Election officials say the expanded schedule is intended to provide flexibility for voters and help manage what is expected to be a busy election season.

The plan will move forward through the final approval process before becoming the official early voting schedule for Iredell County.
