Statesville, N.C. — Residents and businesses in Statesville faced disruptions Wednesday night following multiple water line breaks linked to recent wintry weather, prompting emergency repairs and temporary outages.
City crews performed an emergency water main repair on N. Pointe Boulevard, shutting off water service at 10:00 p.m. The outage lasted approximately six hours. Businesses affected included Aldi, Lowe’s, Publix, Hobby Lobby, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Residential areas impacted included Summer Pointe Apartments, Greylin Ridge Apartments, Vermillion Loop, Red Stone Lane, Wolf Creek Lane, and surrounding streets.
Meanwhile, W. Front Street was closed between S. Meeting Street and Mayo Street due to a water main break in the 200 block. Crews worked on repairs, and motorists were encouraged to use alternate routes. Residents in the area experienced low water pressure or temporary outages during the repair period.
City officials said crews worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore service. Residents with water or sewer concerns were urged to contact the Statesville Water Department at 704-878-3417.
These incidents followed recent cold and wintry conditions, which strained local infrastructure. Officials reminded the public to remain cautious on affected streets and prepare for potential short-term service disruptions during repairs.
