The City of Statesville's Community Appearance Commission has announced the recipients of its Spring 2026 Community Appearance Awards, recognizing homeowners who have made exceptional efforts to enhance and maintain their properties.
The awards celebrate residents whose dedication to landscaping, property maintenance, and beautification helps improve neighborhoods and strengthen community pride throughout Statesville.
This spring's award recipients include:
• Kathy Williams – North Green Street
• Alan and Kerri Williams – Lakeside Drive
• Darryl and Tewanna Davidson – High Point Avenue
• Don Underhill and Donna McMillen – North Oakwood Drive
• Bill and Tamera Neely – Sherwood Lane
Kathy Williams was recognized for continuing and expanding the lawn and garden originally established by her son, as well as adding an attractive stone wall to the front of the property.
Alan and Kerri Williams received recognition for years of improvements to their home and landscape, including painting the brick exterior, replacing doors, and creating rock pathways and retaining walls leading to the creek behind their home.
Darryl and Tewanna Davidson were honored for revitalizing their landscape by removing older border plantings and replacing them with new grass.
Don Underhill and Donna McMillen's property was recognized for its colorful landscape filled with flowers and highlighted by a decorative arch, creating a welcoming outdoor space that reflects years of dedication and care.
Bill and Tamera Neely earned recognition for enhancing their property with an array of plants and flowers surrounding the stone wall that has long been a defining feature of their lot.
"The Community Appearance Awards are one of our favorite ways to recognize residents who help keep Statesville beautiful," said Sherry Harris, Chair of the Community Appearance Commission. "These homeowners have invested time and care into their properties, creating attractive landscapes that enhance their neighborhoods and contribute to community pride."
The Community Appearance Commission presents the awards twice each year, in the spring and fall, as part of its mission to promote beautification, cleanliness, and civic pride throughout the community.
City officials congratulated the Spring 2026 award recipients and thanked them for their efforts in helping make Statesville a more attractive and welcoming place to live.
