Sheriff JD Hartman announced that on February 25, 2026, Davie County patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet Malibu that had left the Days Inn on Yadkinville Road for a traffic violation.

Deputies identified the driver as 38-year-old Shante Rochelle Brown of Mocksville and the passenger as 39-year-old Shacory Avery Brown of Salisbury. Deputies reported smelling alcohol and observing an open container of Coors Light in the center console. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of more than 80 grams of cocaine and crack, 14 grams of marijuana, and $13,653 in cash.

Authorities learned Shacory Brown had rented two rooms at the Days Inn and requested assistance from the Davie County Narcotics Division. Deputies secured both rooms, where they reported finding additional cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

While deputies were on scene, 37-year-old Meosha Obrien Parks of Salisbury arrived at the hotel. Deputies said they detected the odor of alcohol and found an open container and cocaine inside her vehicle. Parks was taken into custody.

Detectives later executed search warrants on the two hotel rooms. Jessica Lee Grant and 55-year-old Kenneth Wayne Shepherd of Mocksville were also arrested.

Shante Rochelle Brown and Shacory Avery Brown each face multiple Level 1 trafficking charges involving Schedule II controlled substances, along with additional felony and misdemeanor drug and alcohol-related offenses. Both were issued no bond and are scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on March 26, 2026.

Parks received a $3,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear March 12, 2026.

Grant received a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear March 26, 2026.

Shepherd was issued no bond on local charges and also faces warrants from Davidson and Rowan counties, resulting in secured bonds totaling $60,000. He is scheduled to appear March 9, 2026.
