Ashley Furniture Store Planned for Statesville by Labor Day

A new Ashley furniture store is set to open in Statesville in time for Labor Day as Broad River Retail expands its presence in the region.

Broad River Retail, based in Fort Mill, plans to become the anchor tenant at Broad Street Station shopping center. The new showroom will be located at 1650 East Broad Street inside a 35,000-square-foot former Food Lion building near the intersection of Interstates 40 and 77.

Company leaders say they have been watching the Statesville market for years and see the location as part of a strategy to grow in smaller communities within existing markets. The site’s visibility and easy interstate access were key factors in the decision.

The new store will feature Ashley’s latest showroom design, showcasing complete room collections for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and children’s spaces. The location will also include Ashley Luxe, the company’s higher-end furniture line, along with a dedicated sleep shop.

Executives say the new location will help fill a gap in the company’s footprint while creating new jobs and leadership opportunities as the retailer continues its expansion. Once the Statesville store opens, Broad River Retail will operate 38 Ashley locations nationwide.
