MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an alleged break-in and theft at the home of retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, just weeks after he and six others died in a plane crash last month.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says the burglary was reported on January 8 at Biffle’s estate in Mooresville. Authorities believe someone forcibly entered the home and accessed a safe.

Investigators say approximately $30,000 in cash, a backpack, firearms and personal memorabilia were stolen. Officials confirmed no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Deputies are reviewing digital evidence and conducting interviews as they work the case.

No one was at the house at the time of the alleged break-in, and the home was last known to be secure the afternoon before the incident was reported.

Biffle, a former NASCAR Cup Series competitor and winner of 19 races, died along with his wife, two children and three others on December 18, 2025, when their Cessna business jet crashed while attempting to return to Statesville Regional Airport.

A public memorial service honoring Biffle and the other victims is scheduled for Friday in Charlotte.
