ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (February 11, 2026) — Authorities have arrested a China Grove woman in connection with the sexual abuse of a child, announced the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, February 9, 2026, the FBI notified the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office about an investigation involving child sexual abuse. The inquiry led investigators to 33-year-old Veronica Rose Yerry.
During a separate investigation assisted by the FBI, agents discovered communications from Yerry containing videos depicting the sexual abuse of an infant. Detectives confirmed the identities of both the suspect and the child victim.
A search warrant was executed at Yerry’s residence, where authorities seized physical and digital evidence related to the investigation.
Yerry was later located near her home and taken into custody during a traffic stop. The child victim, who was in the vehicle at the time, was immediately released to the Rowan County Department of Social Services, which assumed emergency custody to ensure the child’s safety.
Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, Yerry was charged with multiple offenses, including:
Felony Child Abuse
First Degree Forcible Sex Offense with a Child
First Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Child
Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Child
Crime Against Nature
Simple Possession of Marijuana
Investigators also reported finding marijuana in the child’s bedroom during the search of the residence.
Yerry is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center without bond. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
