Fire Damages Leonard Truck Accessories Building on Salisbury Road

Firefighters responded to a structure fire Saturday night at the Leonard Buildings & Truck Accessories location in Statesville.
According to the Statesville Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, to a reported fire at the business on Salisbury Road.
Engine 3 arrived first on the scene and reported heavy smoke coming from the single-story commercial building.
A working fire was immediately transmitted, and firefighters began an aggressive attack on the blaze. Crews stretched a hose line into the building and made an interior attack while additional firefighters deployed a second hose line and ventilated the structure.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly, with the fire reported under control by 9:08 p.m.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Authorities say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Salisbury Road was temporarily closed in both directions while crews worked to extinguish the fire and secure the scene.
