STATESVILLE, N.C. — A new grocery destination is now open in Statesville, bringing expanded shopping options, fresh food choices, and added convenience for local residents.
The new Food Lion opened its doors this morning at 1909 E. Broad Street in Statesville, marking the community’s latest location from the national grocery chain. The store represents Food Lion’s continued investment in the region and expands its presence as a trusted neighborhood grocer.
Despite cold winter conditions, shoppers lined up early and braved the weather to attend the grand opening, where customers were welcomed with free gift cards and reusable shopping bags as part of the celebration.
Inside, shoppers will find a wide assortment of products, including fresh produce, quality meats, and ready-to-eat, ready-to-cook, and ready-to-heat meal solutions. The store also offers a variety of organic, gluten-free, and plant-based items to meet diverse dietary needs.
Among the store’s standout features are a walk-in garden cooler designed to keep produce at peak freshness, in-store prepared cut fruit, freshly made sushi, and a self-service wing and hot favorites bar, making it easier for customers to grab a quick meal or plan dinner.
Convenience is also a major focus at the new location. Customers can use Food Lion To Go pickup and home delivery services by placing orders online through the Food Lion website or app. The store also includes self-checkout lanes alongside traditional cashier-assisted checkout to provide faster and more flexible service.
The Statesville store participates in Food Lion’s Local Goodness program, featuring products sourced from regional growers and North Carolina-based suppliers, helping support local businesses and bring community-made products to store shelves.
Store officials say the opening underscores Food Lion’s commitment to serving the Statesville community by offering affordable prices, fresh food, and convenient shopping options while also supporting local jobs.
