Hickory Man Charged Following Domestic Violence Investigation

A Hickory man is facing multiple felony charges following a domestic violence investigation conducted by the Taylorsville Police Department.
According to police, officers responded to Mountainwood Apartments on May 30 at approximately 12:18 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident that had already occurred.
Following an investigation, authorities identified 33-year-old Daniel Martinez of Hickory as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
Police say Martinez was later located by the Catawba County Sheriff's Office. Custody was transferred to the Taylorsville Police Department on May 31 at approximately 12:27 a.m.
Martinez has been charged with felony first-degree burglary, felony second-degree kidnapping, crime of domestic violence, and communicating threats.
Following his arrest, Martinez was placed under a 48-hour domestic violence hold in accordance with North Carolina law.
The Taylorsville Police Department thanked the Catawba County Sheriff's Office for its assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect.
