Taylorsville Man Charged In Multiple Store Thefts

A Taylorsville man is facing multiple theft charges after police say he stole merchandise from several local businesses.


According to the Taylorsville Police Department, officers arrested 42-year-old Joshua Scott Simpson on May 30 following an investigation into thefts reported at multiple stores throughout the area.


Simpson was charged with three counts of misdemeanor larceny.


Investigators allege that Simpson took merchandise from Walmart, Tractor Supply, Dollar General, and Ace Hardware. Police said some of the items involved in the thefts included trees and potting soil.


Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be filed as detectives continue to review evidence related to the case.


Simpson was issued a $3,000 secured bond and is awaiting his next court appearance.
