Iredell County Offices to Close for Memorial Day Holiday

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Iredell County officials have announced that county offices and several public services will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.

County leaders say the closures will affect a number of departments and services across the county, including Animal Services and Control, the Department of Social Services, Elections Office, Government Center offices, Public Health locations, the Register of Deeds Office, the Tax Office, Veteran Services, and all Iredell County Public Library branches in Statesville, Harmony, and Troutman.

Iredell County Area Transportation System, or ICATS, will also be closed with no transportation routes operating on Memorial Day. In addition, all Iredell County Solid Waste facilities will be closed for the holiday.

While most county offices will be closed, some Parks and Recreation facilities will remain open with adjusted schedules. Officials say the Recreation Center will operate from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., county parks will remain open from dawn until dusk, and the seasonal pool will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Animal Services officials say the shelter will be closed on Memorial Day; however, Animal Control Officers will continue responding to emergency calls involving injured or aggressive animals only.
