Statesville, N.C. — Iredell County voters are gearing up for in-person voting as the March 3, 2026 North Carolina primary election approaches, with officials encouraging participation and sharing details about early voting options and requirements.
In-person early voting in Iredell County begins Thursday, February 12 and runs through Saturday, February 28, with locations open daily from early morning into the evening to accommodate voters who want to cast their ballots before Election Day. On March 3, polls will be open for in-person voting on Primary Election Day at assigned precincts across the county.
Multiple Early Voting Locations
The Iredell County Board of Elections has announced a network of early voting sites to serve residents across the county. Among confirmed locations are:
The Board of Elections Office at 203 Stockton Street in Statesville
War Memorial in Mooresville
Lake Norman Fire Department in Mooresville
Troutman/I-SS CATS Facilities & Maintenance Building in Troutman
Harmony/North Iredell American Legion Post 113 in Harmony
“These sites provide accessible, in-person early voting options so voters can make their voices heard on their schedules,” said county election officials.
What Voters Should Know
North Carolina voters can cast an early or Election Day ballot in person only in the county where they are registered. During the early voting period, individuals may vote at any designated early voting location in Iredell County, but on Election Day they must go to their assigned precinct.
Voters are reminded that photo identification is required at check-in before they receive a ballot. Acceptable forms include a driver’s license, state ID, or other government-issued photo ID. If a voter does not have a photo ID, they may complete a Photo ID Exception Form or obtain a free voter photo ID from their county board of elections office during early voting hours.
Same-Day Registration Available
Individuals who missed the regular voter registration deadline on February 6 may still register and vote the same day if they go to an early voting location during the early voting period. Same-day registration requires presenting proof of residency, such as a government document with a current address.
Election Day and Primary Context
The March 3 primary will determine party nominees for state and local offices ahead of the November general election. While unaffiliated voters may choose which party’s primary ballot to vote, they cannot vote in more than one party’s primary in a single election.
County election officials have urged voters to plan ahead and check their registration status, polling place, and sample ballot through tools on the state and local election websites ahead of voting.
