Deputies with the Davie County Sheriff's Office arrested two people following a suspicious person investigation early Thursday morning at a Circle K in Mocksville.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded around 1:36 a.m. on May 14 to the Circle K located at 765 Valley Road after a caller reported two individuals had remained inside the women’s restroom for approximately 30 minutes.

When deputies knocked on the restroom door, a man later identified as 32-year-old Dillon Dakota Carter of Reidsville eventually opened the door. The woman with him was identified as 30-year-old Megan Nichole Moorefield of Greensboro.

Deputies requested identification, and Moorefield reportedly went to the vehicle to retrieve a Texas identification card. While speaking with the pair, deputies observed firearms in plain view inside the vehicle. Moorefield allegedly admitted she was a convicted felon.

K9 Smoke was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle, leading deputies to conduct a probable cause search. Investigators reportedly located pistols, marijuana packaged in baggies inside a mason jar, methamphetamine, a tray containing white powder, a digital scale, nine Alprazolam tablets, and one Clonazepam tablet.

Both Carter and Moorefield were charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule VI controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule II controlled substance, carrying a concealed gun, felony maintaining a vehicle, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Moorefield was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Both suspects were transported to the Davie County Detention Center. Moorefield received a $12,500 secured bond, while Carter received a $7,500 secured bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on May 28.
