Construction on the Statesville Police Department Expansion and Parking Deck continues to move forward, with several phases of the project progressing at the same time and remaining on schedule.
The parking garage structure is now complete, marking a significant milestone. Crews are currently completing cosmetic touch-up work, while plumbing teams continue installing underground drainage lines to support the facility.
Work is also advancing on the Police Department expansion. Interior demolition has begun in the call center area, along with demolition on the lower level of the building. Construction crews anticipate beginning the post-tension slab pour in early January, which will be an important step in preparing the expanded space.
Site and street improvements are also underway. Installation of storm drainage along Tradd Street is expected to begin by the end of the week and is anticipated to take approximately two to three weeks. City officials say they are working toward reopening Tradd Street by the end of January 2026.
City leaders say the project continues to progress as planned and will provide improved facilities, additional parking, and long-term benefits for the Statesville Police Department and the community once completed.
