Statesville Police Search for Missing Man

The Statesville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man last seen in the city.

Authorities say 64-year-old Earvin Charles Smith, who also goes by the names “Pops” and “JR,” was last seen near 5th Street Ministries.

Smith is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds, with white hair. Police say he is known to frequently wear a face mask.

At the time he was last seen, Smith was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and white Nike Air Force 1 shoes.

Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Statesville Police Department at 704-878-3406. Authorities are also asking the public to share the information to help locate him.
