Statesville Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Missing Teen

The Statesville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 17-year-old who was reported as a runaway.

Police say Tavares Avery was last seen on April 27 in the South Statesville area near Wilson Lee Boulevard. He is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

At the time he was last seen, Avery was wearing a black shirt, gray jacket, black pants, and white Nike shoes.
