Three Arrested After Shots Fired Call in Taylorsville

TAYLORSVILLE, NC — Three people were arrested Monday night following a reported disturbance that escalated into a shots fired investigation in Taylorsville.
According to the Taylorsville Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly before 9:00 p.m. on March 23 to a civil dispute at a residence on Old Wilkesboro Road. While officers were en route, additional calls came in reporting gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived, they located a shell casing on the roadside, prompting a deeper investigation and the execution of a search warrant at the residence.
During the search, officers recovered ammunition matching the shell casing, along with a Glock 29 handgun.
Police arrested 34-year-old Trenton Bennett of Taylorsville. He is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm within city limits, and resisting a public officer. Bennett was given a $30,000 secured bond.
Also arrested was 57-year-old Angela Clanton, who faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. Authorities say she was already out on bond and was placed under a 48-hour hold.
A third suspect, 37-year-old Yakima Green, was also charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. She was also out on bond and placed under a 48-hour hold.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The Taylorsville Police Department thanked the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and members of the public for their assistance during the investigation.
