Sheriff Darren Campbell said a routine traffic stop on Salisbury Highway led to a foot chase, K-9 search, and multiple drug-related charges.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, on January 11, 2026, Deputy Perry was patrolling Salisbury Highway when he stopped a Volkswagen Jetta. The driver was identified as Timothy James Little Jr., and the passenger as Thomas Hughes Robinson Jr.

During the traffic stop, deputies searched the vehicle and found marijuana, digital scales, and other drug-related items inside a bookbag. A second digital scale containing cocaine was also located in the same bag.

Sheriff Campbell said Deputy Perry later searched Robinson and noticed a bulge in Robinson’s sock. When the deputy attempted to check the item further, Robinson fled the scene on foot.

Deputy Moncus responded to assist, along with his K-9 partner, Kash. The K-9 was deployed to track Robinson, who was found hiding inside a dump trailer on Nabors Road and taken into custody.

Investigators said Robinson later admitted the items found in his sock were fentanyl pressed pills. He was arrested and charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses. Robinson was transported before Magistrate Hollar, where he was denied bond due to his recent release from prison.

Little was released at the scene after receiving citations for simple possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
