A traffic stop in Cleveland led to a drug arrest after officers reportedly discovered marijuana inside a vehicle.

According to the Cleveland Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit in Cleveland, North Carolina.

During the stop, officers say they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Based on that observation, a search was conducted. Investigators say the search led to the discovery of several jars containing marijuana.

The driver, identified as Timothy Ryan Hardin, was charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Hardin was issued a $5,000 bond.

Police say the arrest is part of their ongoing effort to conduct proactive traffic enforcement and address illegal drug activity in the community. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
