Ron “Duck” Wyatt, a lifelong public servant and respected community leader in Iredell County, passed away on February 11.

While early voting is most popular in general elections, it is increasingly used during primaries as well. In the 2022 primary, 39% of voters cast their ballots during the early voting period, 59% voted on Election Day, and 2% submitted ballots by mail.

Alexander County deputies arrested 41-year-old Will Donovan Loudermelk of Fairgrounds Road in Taylorsville on Thursday, February 12, charging him with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fifty-three-year-old David Flake Stafford of Taylorsville and 42-year-old David Allen Vetter of Conover were arrested Wednesday, February 11, by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
