The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has concluded its investigation into a fatal shooting that followed a vehicle crash last summer in Salisbury, resulting in a voluntary manslaughter charge against a Salisbury man.

Federal regulators cited Duke Energy’s McGuire Nuclear Station for two violations linked to procedural and maintenance shortcomings — including one that led to a manual reactor shutdown — underscoring ongoing scrutiny at North Carolina’s largest power plant. 

Authorities say 19-year-old Ahmon Jamir Henderson is being held at the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen firearm, and resisting a public officer.
