Court Records Reveal Details About Taylorsville Woman's Felony Charges

Court records provide new details in the case against a Taylorsville woman charged with multiple felony charges tied to her former workplace.
Tanaye Jill Goehring, 47, was arrested Jan. 30 after a magistrate issued a warrant at the request of the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. The case is filed under Alexander County District Court, Case No. 26CR222457-010.
Goehring is charged with five counts of felony larceny by an employee. Arrest warrants allege the offenses occurred on multiple dates in November 2025 while she was employed at Taylorsville Ace Hardware.
According to the charging documents, Goehring is accused of unlawfully embezzling store return credits and converting them to her own use without her employer’s consent. The warrants list alleged amounts of $212.93, $160.49, $166.43. $73.80, and $36.00, with each count alleging intent to steal and defraud her employer.
Detective Colton Weitzel of the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is listed as the complainant. A judicial official found probable cause and issued the warrants on Jan. 30.
Goehring was initially held on a $60,000 secured bond but later posted a $3,000 bond and was released Feb. 2, according to court records.
She is scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court on Feb. 9. The case remains pending. All charges are allegations, and Goehring is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
