Iredell County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Charlotte man Wednesday following a traffic stop in Mooresville that led to the discovery of methamphetamine and cocaine.

According to Sheriff Darren Campbell, Deputy C. Wilson with the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram along Brawley School Road near Mallard Way on May 13. The driver was identified as 41-year-old Andres Jimenez Juarez of Charlotte.

During the investigation, Canine Deputy J. Greene responded to assist with his K9 partner, Elio. Authorities said the canine alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search of Juarez and the vehicle allegedly resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

Juarez was taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Thompson issued him a $15,000 secured bond.

Juarez faces charges including felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
