A major economic development project could soon bring millions of dollars in investment and dozens of jobs to Troutman and Iredell County.

According to the Iredell County Economic Development Corporation, two of motorsports' most respected names—Kelly-Moss and Riley—have joined forces to create a new strategic entity known as VICCI, Inc.

VICCI will serve as the parent company for both Riley and Kelly-Moss, combining the strengths of the two organizations while allowing each brand to continue operating independently. Riley is already well established in Mooresville and is recognized throughout the racing industry for its expertise in endurance racing, advanced engineering, and manufacturing. Kelly-Moss has earned a national reputation for excellence in Porsche racing and high-performance motorsports.

Under the proposed plan, VICCI intends to consolidate and expand operations in Troutman by relocating its corporate headquarters and racing operations from Fitchburg, Wisconsin, while also moving Riley's current Mooresville facility to Troutman.

The project would represent an investment of up to $25 million in real property, machinery, and equipment. Company officials also plan to relocate approximately 50 jobs from Wisconsin and create at least 10 additional jobs locally. The new positions are expected to pay wages above Iredell County's average annual wage of $64,895.

VICCI is currently considering purchasing the Town-owned facility located at 250 Old Murdock Road in Troutman, the former home of Keystone Powdered Metal Company. Bringing the property back into active use would return the facility to the local tax base and provide additional economic benefits for the community.

Project documents indicate the company made its location decision in June 2026, with capital investment expected to begin in July. Renovations are anticipated to continue through December 2027, with the full investment projected to be completed by the end of that year.

The Town of Troutman held a public hearing on June 11 regarding incentive agreements for the project and a proposed purchase agreement for the facility. Iredell County commissioners also held a public hearing on June 16 to consider incentives supporting the investment.

If finalized, economic development officials say the project will further strengthen Iredell County's growing reputation as a center for motorsports innovation, advanced manufacturing, and high-quality job creation.

The Iredell County Economic Development Corporation says the project represents another significant step forward in attracting industry-leading companies to the region and expanding the county's role in the nation's motorsports economy.
