City of Statesville Announces Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday Schedule

Statesville, NC — City of Statesville offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be no garbage collection on that day.


Revised residential sanitation schedule for January 19–23:

Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected on Wednesday.


Revised commercial sanitation schedule for January 20–24:For businesses using roll-out carts or garbage containers, Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday.


In addition to city office closures, the Statesville Recreation Center and Bentley Community Center will also be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026.


Residents and businesses are encouraged to plan accordingly for the adjusted sanitation schedule.
