Davie County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division detectives arrested two individuals on drug charges and outstanding warrants following an investigation in the Walmart parking lot on Highway 601 North.

According to Sheriff J.D. Hartman, detectives were working in the area of Cooper Creek Drive and Highway 601 North on June 18 when they located a suspicious vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. Investigators utilized K9 Smoke to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle, and the K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.

Detectives made contact with the vehicle's occupants as they exited the store. Authorities say Jason Darren Love, 47, of Boomer, allegedly threw a bag containing methamphetamine onto the ground before being detained. A subsequent search reportedly uncovered additional methamphetamine and fentanyl.

The female occupant was identified as Meghan Danielle Macemore, 31, of Boonville. Investigators discovered Macemore had outstanding warrants from Surry County, as did Love.

Macemore was arrested on multiple warrants, including five felony counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense, one felony count of Aiding and Abetting Obtaining Property by False Pretense, and two misdemeanor counts of Larceny. She was issued a $7,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Surry County District Court on July 20.

Love was charged with felony Possession of Methamphetamine, felony Possession of Fentanyl, and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He received a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on July 16.

In addition, Love was served with outstanding Surry County warrants charging him with felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense and misdemeanor Second-Degree Trespassing. He received an additional $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Surry County District Court on July 20.

The Davie County Sheriff's Office thanked the Yadkin County Sheriff's Office for its assistance during the investigation and arrests.
