Deputies Arrest Taylorsville Man

TAYLORSVILLE — A 64-year-old local man was taken into custody Friday, Jan. 9, following an assault involving a baseball bat, according to authorities.

Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers arrested Hubert Lee Carlton of Taylorsville and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon after a reported altercation in the area. Deputies allege Carlton struck a victim with a baseball bat during the incident, resulting in the serious criminal charge.

Following his arrest, Carlton was held without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center pending further court proceedings.

The investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as the case moves through the legal process.
