STATESVILLE, N.C. — Iredell County Emergency Communications (ECOM) has been named the North Carolina NENA 911 Center of the Year, an honor announced during the North Carolina NENA/APCO Annual Conference.
The award recognizes a 911 center that exemplifies excellence in service, innovation, professionalism, and a strong commitment to public safety and community support.
ECOM was selected for its leadership in emergency communications, continued investment in training and professional development, and its use of advanced technologies to better serve residents and first responders throughout Iredell County.
Daryl Conley, Iredell County Public Safety Director, praised the team’s efforts and the significance of the recognition.
“This award reflects the incredible professionalism and heart of our ECOM team,” Conley said. “Every day, they are the calm voice in someone’s worst moment, and they carry that responsibility with skill, compassion, and unwavering commitment. I’m proud of the work they do, proud of the standards they set, and proud to see them recognized as the best 911 center in North Carolina.”
The North Carolina NENA 911 Center of the Year Award highlights excellence in operational performance, community engagement, and the advancement of 911 services statewide.
Officials say the recognition underscores ECOM’s leadership in emergency communications and its ongoing dedication to serving the community with integrity, innovation, and professionalism.
