Residents age 50 and older are invited to get active and involved as the Iredell Senior Games hosts its Spring Open House and registration event this weekend.

The event will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at two locations: the South Iredell Senior Center and the Statesville Recreation Center.

Organizers say the open house is the perfect opportunity for both returning competitors and first-time participants to learn more about the program and sign up for this year’s activities. Participants can register on-site for Senior Games competitions, as well as SilverArts and Performing Arts events.

Officials say the games promote fitness, fun, friendship, and friendly competition for adults age 50 and older throughout Iredell County.

Those attending Saturday’s event will also find several incentives. Registration will be free for first-time participants, and the first 60 people who register will receive free Chick-fil-A. Participants will also have the chance to pick up their official Iredell Senior Games T-shirt.

Organizers say they’re excited to kick off another season and encourage anyone interested to stop by, learn more, and get in the game.
