Landis Man Arrested On Kidnapping, Assault Charges

Deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48-year-old Don Allen Parson Jr. on multiple felony charges connected to a domestic violence investigation in Landis.
According to Sheriff Travis Allen, deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team (SOCAT) took Parson into custody on April 29, 2026, at approximately 4:16 p.m. at his residence on South Kimmons Street.
Investigators say deputies had been searching for Parson since April 23 after obtaining warrants related to a domestic assault incident that allegedly occurred at the home around that same time.
Parson was served with warrants charging him with second-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and domestic violence-related offenses.
Following his arrest, Parson was transported to the Rowan County Detention Center where he was placed under no bond.
