Mocksville Man Charged in Cocaine Traffic Stop

A Mocksville man is facing drug charges following an early morning traffic stop in Davie County.
According to the Davie County Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop around 12:10 a.m. on February 19, 2026, on a silver Ford Fusion traveling on Avon Street in Mocksville.
During the stop, deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Fredy Hernandez-Romero, 23, of the 200 block of Eaton Road in Mocksville. After receiving consent to search the vehicle, deputies located a small plastic baggie containing a white powder substance that was later identified as cocaine.
Hernandez-Romero was charged with one count of felony possession of cocaine and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was issued a $1,250 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davie County District Court on March 5, 2026.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
