Road Rage Shooting Suspect Arrested in Salisbury

The Salisbury Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a road rage shooting that left one person seriously injured.
On February 15, 2026, patrol officers responded to a reported shooting on Interstate 85 between East Innes Street and Jake Alexander Boulevard in Salisbury. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Patrol officers immediately rendered life-saving aid until EMS arrived on scene.
The victim sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover.
The Salisbury Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit led the investigation and developed probable cause to charge Darrion Ravon Black with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, two counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Conveyance, and Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits.
Black was arrested on February 22, 2026, and is currently being held without bond.
