A Salisbury man has been arrested following a shooting investigation that left a woman injured over the weekend.
According to the Salisbury Police Department, officers responded around 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, to the 600 block of Vance Avenue in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult female inside the residence suffering from injuries related to the incident.
The victim was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, detectives identified 37-year-old Jorod Qutez Young as being involved in the shooting. Investigators also determined Young was in possession of a firearm despite being a convicted felon.
Police obtained a felony warrant charging Young with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
On Tuesday, May 6, members of the Salisbury Police Department’s Special Response Team and Criminal Investigations Division located and arrested Young without incident.
