Shots Fired Call Under Investigation on Wilson Lee Boulevard

Statesville police are investigating a shots fired call reported Thursday morning in the 1300 block of Wilson Lee Boulevard.

According to the Statesville Police Department, officers were dispatched around 10:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a subject walking along Wilson Lee Boulevard and firing shots at random. Officers responded quickly to the area, but the subject fled on foot before they arrived.

During the subsequent search, officers received information indicating the individual may have entered a nearby residence. Out of an abundance of caution, the department activated its Special Response Team. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist and provided its Bearcat armored response vehicle, which remained on standby.

Police obtained and were granted a search warrant for the residence in question. The home was cleared without incident, and no additional threats were located.

Authorities say the scene has been secured and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further information has been released at this time.
