IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A quick response from Iredell County deputies led to the arrest of a Statesville man connected to multiple attempted break-ins, vehicle thefts, and drug-related offenses.
According to Sheriff Darren Campbell, deputies with B Squad were dispatched early Friday morning, March 27th, at approximately 7:13 a.m. to the Pilch Road area following reports of a man attempting to force his way into two separate homes.
Deputies arrived promptly and located 34-year-old Adam Michael Packard of Statesville, taking him into custody at the scene.
As the investigation progressed, detectives determined Packard was also linked to a string of vehicle break-ins and thefts reported between March 24th and March 26th.
Detective Zalepka with the Criminal Investigation Division responded and developed probable cause to secure a search warrant for Packard’s residence on Henderson Drive. During the search, deputies recovered multiple stolen items connected to the vehicle break-ins, allowing authorities to return property to victims.
Investigators also seized approximately 57 dosage units of Clonazepam, 3.52 grams of marijuana, and packaging materials consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Packard now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to attempted break-ins, theft, and drug offenses. He is currently being held at the Iredell County Detention Center under a $155,000 secured bond.
Sheriff Campbell noted the case highlights the importance of rapid response and coordinated investigative efforts in stopping ongoing criminal activity and keeping the community safe.
