Statesville Police Investigating Fatal Shooting on East Bell Street

Statesville — The Statesville Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened Saturday morning on East Bell Street.

According to police, officers were called to the 200 block of East Bell Street around 11:30 a.m. on April 18 after receiving a report of a possible home invasion and a person who had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found 24-year-old Trevor Miguel Roman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began providing emergency aid until Iredell County EMS arrived at the scene. Roman later died from his injuries.

The department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded and launched an active investigation into the incident.

Police say the person responsible for the shooting has been identified, and investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
