A break-in at a storage facility in Mooresville has led to felony charges following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Darren Campbell, deputies responded on Friday, January 11, 2026, to Affordable Storage, located off Oakridge Farm Highway, after a customer discovered their storage unit had been broken into. Several personal items were reported missing.
Detective T. Henderson took over the investigation and reviewed surveillance video from the storage facility. Sheriff Campbell said the footage showed a suspect vehicle, providing investigators with a key lead.
That vehicle was traced to a residence in Statesville, where detectives contacted the registered owner. Authorities say detectives located the suspect at the residence along with several items reported stolen from the storage unit.
As a result of the investigation, 53-year-old Arthur Lee Oxendale of Statesville was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possession of burglary tools.
Oxendale was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was denied bond due to already being out on bond for previous charges.
